Sacred dances

With Belgian teacher Hermien. She obtained her certificate in Antwerp at the Yoga Vedanta institute. Movements from the Hara Chakra - the middle of your body - with world and classic music.

Yoga

YOGA… be aware of your breathing… be aware of your energy… meditation. Open your heart and take yourself to the deepest of your being, bless your Self with the sparkling new energy, conscious feeling flowing movements, connect you again with the present rhythm, the natural breathing, let the subtle energy freely flow. If you are totally present in that noiseless space inside of you, you balance your body, soul and mind. This class will be attended by Hermien.

Belly dancing

The Belly Dance is identified by swaying hips, undulating torso, and articulated isolations employed in a range of       dynamic and emotional expressions. Characteristic movements in the dance include curving patterns, undulations, thrusts, lifts, locks, and drops, and shaking or quaking body movements. The focus is on isolated movements of individual parts of the body with little notice given to the footsteps. Arms and hands move fluidly, like serpents or ribbons in the air. Unusual strength and control is demonstrated in the belly area. The Dance that Celebrates Life, Birth and Creativity! The Dance that Celebrates Women! The Dance that Celebrates Beauty! The Dance that Celebrates the Body! This Workshop will be attended by Barbara & Isabel

Tai chi

Tai Chi is an ancient art with many of its fundamental principles reflecting ancient Chinese wisdom. Just as with yoga, one tries to achieve a state of alertness, calmness andgood physical fitness as a daily reality. Tai chi  can help you solve the states os stress build up in the past. While practicing adquired think and act patterns are recognized and dealt with. Alertness and relax ness are at the same time central during the exercises. The harmonious soft movements are balanced and performed naturally and rhythmically. The principals of Tai Chi are felt in every body part trough the various positions.  Practicing Tai Chi does not demand great physical effort and can be done by young and old. This workshop is attended by Guido.

Making (cosmetic) creams

Make your own (day or hand) cream, a shampoo or douche gel and a lip balm with natural ingredients. Beside the products you learn to make, Joyce gives an explanation and recepies, so that you can make these also at home. Workshop will be attended by Joyce.

Draw what you see/Picture what you become aware of

In these workshops you will draw and paint what you experience. But, what you experience doesn't have to correspond to reality! What is reality? Can you really picture reality? Whose reality?

People look with their eyes, but as well with their brains. With our brains we add a lot of things. But what if we, for once, wouldn't do the latter? What would we see in that case?

* Is that tree really green or actually more blue-purple?

* Is that a smooth plain or is it composed out of a lot of colours?

* Aren’t the shades sometime more present than the objects themselves?

* Doesn’t that object feel like being much bigger than it actually could be in reality?

* Is that a light or is it an object?

During the workshop you will often be challenged to concentrate on something else than you normally inclined to do. In this way you will learn to look to the world around you in another way. It will make you aware of the richness of experiences you can gain and the many possibilities that exist to represent them on paper.

In this adventure the most important issues are the discovering of new ways to look at things and inspiring each other. The technique and art of drawing and painting are of minor importance in these workshops. Everybody can participate, both young and old, experienced or not at all.

This workshop will be focused on colour, light and contrast. To canalise the world of experiences a bit more, the workshop is divided as outlined below:

1. The Afternoon and the twilight - The main attention in these hours will go to the richness of colours around you, the effect that light has on it and the influences your eyes have on what you actually experience.

In the hours of the twilight the main attention will go to the changes of colours and shades influenced by the    changing of light.

2. The Evening and Night - And now drawing in the dark! But how dark is "dark" actually? Do you really see no colours at all when it’s dark?  In these hours we will focus on light, darkness and contrast.

During and after her study to become a designer Carolien van Dijk enjoyed many jobs and challenges which were able to shift and widen her look on the world. For her these are a daily source of inspiration. It is this source of inspiration she loves to share with the people around her to inspire them as well.

Material: We will work with acrylic paint (because it dries fast so you will be able to layer your drawings) on both white and black paper. Paper and basic materials are included in the price. If you can bring your own paint, brushes, old cloths etc. we recommend that.
